Sunrise over the Annapurna RangeViews from the Sarangkot View PointOne should on no account turn down the opportunity to take the early morning sightseeing trip to the top of the hill at Sarangkot to watch what must be right up there in 'wonderful views of the world' rankings. Assuming your Hotel is in Pokhara City, to enable you to get a good viewpoint, the Taxi will probably pick you up around 5am (October). The road going up is pretty narrow with some rather scary looking bends. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Upon arrival, you walk up some steps and on to one of the many balconies. You can get a hot tea or coffee from one of the little Canteens under each. After that, it's just a case of waiting, then spending around an hour and a half to watch the whole transition of skyline. It's a view to remember and no matter how many photos you take, it will be hard to reproduce the enormity and beauty. One tip....if you are visiting Pokhara soley to see the sunrise I suggest staying two nights. Although not often, you could get a clouded over morning, so having a spare day is beneficial just in case. Don't miss this !! |
