Video - Crossing the Trishuli River using the Tuin Cable Car

The only way of crossing within about 10 miles

When driving along the Prithvi Highway between Mungling and Kathmandu, stop and have a look at this construction.

Most of the larger Villages and small Towns along the Pass are on the southern banks and there are very few bridges for People on the north side to cross either for business or shopping.

In this place, about 15 miles from the Road Control Point at Kathmandu, it was decided a bridge was not possible, so with the help of the EEC and other parties this was built.

Even on the northern side, many people have a three or four hour walk to their homes.

I would guess at the span being around 80 meters and a height of about 50 meters - not for the feint hearted!
